Training Calendar

Pulse diagnosis is one of the main diagnostic tools used in Chinese and Japanese acupuncture and herbal medicine. The pulse can be used to gain a deep understanding of the patient on many levels.  Each organ is represented in the pulse, which directly relates to the health of the organ and the area that is out of balance.  The pulse provides the practitioner with immediate and specific information that can help clarify diagnostic information and symptomology.  Tongue diagnosis is just as important a diagnostic tool in Chinese medicine. The tongue will show the nature of an imbalance and its affect on yin and yang. The tongue is also useful as a measurement tool to gauge the location and progress of a disorder.

CME hours: 14

Class days: Saturdays

$395

Training Calendar

Acupuncture is used clinically for the treatment of fertility challenged individuals or couples by looking at the condition from both eastern and western viewpoints. We discuss the signs, symptoms and TCM diagnoses commonly found in people with fertility issues. Acupuncture treatment points for each TCM diagnosis are offered along with lifestyle considerations and information for further research.  Fertility issues can arise from a host of factors. In general the treatments focus on building the couple's energy, regulating her menstrual cycle and the quality of the sperm, as well as alleviating any psychological issues which are commonly present.

Module 2: Advanced Auricular Acupuncture

CME hours: 14

Auriculotherapy is effective for a wide range of health problems, including musculoskeletal pain, addiction, respiratory and gastrointestinal issues, skin problems, eye-ear-nose-throat disorders, control of blood pressure, and many others.  Specific points on the ear are stimulated in various techniques to provide relief from a wide range of conditions. It is simple, safe, and effective. In the two days all of the Auriculotherapy modalities are covered, as well as appropriate applications and contraindications. The instructor for this component of the Art and Science of Acupuncture is selected by the Auriculotherapy Certification Institute (ACI) of Los Angeles, California. Under the direction of Terry Oleson, Ph.D., an internationally known lecturer in the field of Auriculotherapy, ACI was established in 1999 to provide certification and training in this specialized health care field. ACI is the only body in North America to certify people for competency in this field.

Module 3: Scalp Acupuncture

CME hours: 14

Class days: Saturday & Sunday

$395

Training Calendar

Scalp acupuncture is one of several specialized acupuncture techniques with a specific body location, taking its place alongside ear, nose, hand, foot, and wrist/ankle acupuncture.  Although the scalp has numerous traditionally-identified acupuncture points along several of the major meridians, modern scalp acupuncture differs from traditional acupuncture therapy. There are basic features of scalp acupuncture that differentiate it from body acupuncture, such as treatment zones that have been mapped onto the scalp.  these zones are associated with body functions, broad body regions, special needling techniques, and has  been especially effective in treating nervous-system disorders and pain.

Module 4: Electro-Acupuncture

CME hours: 14

Class days: Saturdays

$395

Training Calendar

This course will cover the basics of electrical acupuncture including indicators for use, safety regulations, and electrical stimulation and needles, as well as how to select the appropriate treatment format for the condition being treated.

Module 5: Meta-Energetics

CME hours: 7

Class days: Saturday

$295

Training Calendar

Meta-Energetics is a system of innovative Sequential Acupressure Techniques used to enhance clarity and reduce the impact of negative emotional states. These techniques are the result of years of experiential research by Janet Konefal, Ph.D., M.P.H., C.A. With its basis in acupuncture theory, Meta-Energetics utilizes the body’s electrical system so that people can process what they see and hear more clearly, get rid of defensiveness, and overcome limiting patterns. This new technology is both fast and effective. You will learn to:

  • Facilitate clarity on issues, situations, and goals
  • Create desired behavior changes
  • Resolve negative feelings
